COVID-19 Update: Our physical locations are closed to the public. Services are available online and by phone. Students may sign in to Navigate to book an appointment.


All of us at Germanna Community College are committed to the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff as well as the communities we serve. Out of an abundance of caution and to mitigate the risks associated with COVID-19, we announced our initial response on Wednesday, March 11 (updated Tuesday, March 17).

Keep in mind, our efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and the response being made to safeguard our college community are fluid. Any response we communicate will be interim in nature, using the best information available to us at the moment.

Workforce Updates:

  • Workforce has transitioned many classes to online instruction due to COVID-19
  • Trades courses instruction can be found online, and “hands-on or proficiency” elements are being scheduled through alternative schedules and methods to allow for completion and certification.

Reminder: 

CORE Craft is the baseline for all trades and apprenticeship courses. This course is online and students may register for this at any time. 

Workforce personnel work with potential students to help them understand the curriculum and requirements associated with trades and apprenticeship. Potential students are encouraged to join a workforce virtual advising session if there are any questions.


Financial Aid Resources

Germanna’s Financial Aid Department will continue to provide you with financial aid assistance 24/7/365! From this 24/7 link, you can live chat with a financial aid representative anytime day or night, create a case to submit your To Do List documents, or find answers to commonly asked questions regarding financial aid.  

Live Chat

To Chat with a financial aid representative, click on the Live Chat Icon. Answer the questions: Type in what you would like to chat about and What may I help you with? Then, simply click on the Chat button. 

Complete your FAFSA

  • If you will be attending Germanna for the Summer 2020 semester, please complete your 2019-2020 FAFSA.
  • If you will be attending Germanna for the Fall 2020 semester, please complete your 2020-2021 FAFSA.

How to Upload your To Do List Item(s) in SIS

  • Using Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox, go to your Student Center, click on your To Do List Item(s), answer the fillable question(s), and then click on “OK”. Read all information thoroughly to ensure you understand what documentation is needed, click on “Upload File,” click on “Browse,” choose the document you wish to upload (document must be JPG, PDF, PNG, TIF, or TIFF), then click “Upload”. Once the document is uploaded, click on “Submit”.

Email Your Document

  • You may email your document(s) to: mysupport@germanna.edu. Please make sure you have your Student ID number on each document.
  • Note: Once you have submitted your documents, they will no longer be in bold on your To Do List. 

Bookstore

  • As of Monday, March 30th, all bookstore sales will be through our bookstore website at www.efollett.com and products will be shipped to students. Students may click on the Follett Discover icon from Canvas to link their schedule and bookstore site to create a shopping cart. You can also call us at 1-855-874-6681.

How do I make an appointment with Financial Aid in Navigate?

Option 1:

  • Go to gcc.my.vccs.edu.
  • Sign in with your credentials.
  • Click on ‘Navigate Student’.
  • Go the Appointments tab.

Option 2:

  • Or, make an appointment with FA by downloading the ‘Navigate Student’ app in the App Store or Google Play Store and then going to the Appointments tab.
